  1. Hamburger Michel

    St. Michaels Church in Hamburg

    Price: $27.00

St. Michaels Church is the most famous landmark of the city of Hamburg. Built between 1751 and 1786, this Protestant church is an outstanding example of Neoclassical architecture. The 132 m tower has always been a striking eye-catcher and time indicator - you could practically see him from any point in the city. Presumably in the design was exactly this, and not implementing harmoniously balanced proportions, the main concern. Because in relation to the relatively small nave, the tower is actually too high. But perhaps this makes the special charm of the 'Hamburger Michel'. A fire in 1906 and the bombs of World War II destroyed the church almost completely. After its careful reconstruction it sits again proud above the port on the river Elbe. Learn More

  4. Burg Kreuzenstein

    Castle Kreuzenstein

    Price: $40.00

Even in prehistoric times was the site of the present castle Kreuzenstein an impressive fortification. In the 12th century a castle was built on the site, which became the property of the Habsburgs in 1278. A major fire in 1915 damaged the library and archive tract. It destroyed the art collection which included historical musical instruments, manuscripts and original etchings by artists such as Duerer and Cranach. Today the castle is a popular destination for tourist from Vienna. The castle rises between the Danube and Vienna forest and offers views over the Korneuburg Basin, the city of Vienna and large parts of Lower Austria. Learn More
